Conference location
The ECQT 2014 conference takes place in 'Het Pand' meeting center of Ghent University, located in the center of the city of Ghent.
The address is: Onderbergen 1, 9000 Gent .

Getting to the conference venue
From Brussels airport
Trains leave from within the airport building and take you to one of the main railway stations in Brussels (subsequently Noord/Nord, Centraal/Central and Zuid/Midi), where you can switch to one of the many intercity trains (IC) to Gent Sint-Pieters, Ghent's main railway station (Trains to Brugge, Knokke, Blankenberge and Oostende also stop in Ghent). Some trains run directly from the airport to Gent Sint-Pieters. These trains reach Ghent in about 1 hour. Train schedules can be retrieved from the website of the Belgian railway company (from “Brussels airport” to “Gent Sint-Pieters”).

From the railway station Gent Sint-Pieters
The conference venue is located at a distance of 2.4 km from the railway station Gent Sint-Pieters .
Walking from the railway station to the conference venue takes approximately 30 minutes.
Leave the area in front of the main exit using Koning Albertlaan, continue on Groot-Brittanniëlaan, cross the intersection and continue on Louis Pasteurlaan and Maurice de Weertstraat. Turn right onto Coupure Links and at the second bridge turn left onto Lindenlei, continue by the water on Recollettenlei and Ajuinlei, turn left onto Jakobijnenstraat. Finally turn right onto Onderbergen and arrive at Het Pand.

There is also public transport available. In general, trams 1, 21 and 22 provide transport between the railway station and the city center. In any case, it is best to check with the driver.
To get to the conference venue from the railway station Gent Sint-Pieters , take tram 1 (each 6 minutes) or tram 24 (each 20 minutes) and get off at tram stop “Korenmarkt” .
From the Gent-Zuid public transport hub, take tram 4 (each 6 minutes), tram 24 (each 20 minutes) or bus 17 and get off at stop “Korenmarkt” .
From stop “Korenmarkt” , walk over the Sint-Michielsbrug bridge, turn left at Sint-Michielsplein, continue on Onderbergen and arrive at Het Pand.

Alternatively, taxis are available in front of the station.

From the railway station Gent Dampoort
The conference venue is located at a distance of 2 km from the railway station Gent Dampoort . Walking from the railway station Gent Dampoort to the conference venue takes approximately 25 minutes.
From the main exit of the train station, get to the opposite side of the big roundabout and follow the Dampoortstraat. Next, continue on Joremaaie, turn left onto Sint-Joriskaai, turn right onto Tussen 't Pas, continue onto Kalvermarkt, Gildestraat, Kwaadham and Kapittelstraat, turn left onto Lange Kruisstraat and right onto Henegouwenstraat, continue onto Volderstraat, Hoornstraat and Jakobijnenstraat. Finally turn right onto Onderbergen and arrive at Het Pand.

By car
Entering Ghent from the E40 (from Brussels or Oostende/Brugge) or the E17 (from Antwerp or Kortrijk), follow the parking-route to the underground parking P7, “Sint-Michiels” . This parking is about 50 m away from the conference venue.

Please note that you will have to make your own bookings. The following hotels are within walking distance (1.5 km or less) from the conference venue. Please contact the hotels directly, or use your favorite online booking tool for reservations.
As the conference date falls within the touristic season, we strongly advice you not to wait too long to make your hotel reservation, since the hotel occupancy rate could be high during this period.
